Countdown Begins!

A couple of countdowns actually. Christmas is less than 2 weeks away. I've got most of my shopping done, or course Brad hasn't even STARTED his!! We just got the tree in the house, and haven't even decorated it yet. We're total slackers this year! And I'll also be counting down my last days of work. I'll be putting in my "2 weeks notice" tomorrow. I put this in " " because it wont really be 2 weeks, I'll stay until the Wed before Christmas, Thursdays end our pay period, so why bother coming back Friday after the holiday, for a one day paycheck? So I'll be stuck at home while Brad is at work with the truck. Of course there will be plenty to do around the house, to get it ready to go on the market. So that's all the news of the moment. I'll be back with more interesting news when, or if, i have some =)

And so it goes...

Well December is upon us. What does this mean? Lets see, it means I now have just 25 days to start and complete my Christmas shopping. It means my house looks beautiful on the outside with all the pretty lights (and as mentioned before there was some fighting involved). It also means Thanksgiving is gone, and that I am thankful for. I've had enough turkey to last until next year. It being December also means that we've already been to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra show, and let me just say, it was AMAZING! I would go again in a heartbeat, and highly suggest everybody go if they come near you. December also means today Brad sells his much beloved truck. This is a sad day for Bradley. We also have a buyer for Brads horse, within the next 2weeks she will be picking her up. December also means I am that much closer to quitting my job, the plan is to stay until the week of xmas, but if a certain coworker continues to push my buttons daily, I may not make it that far. So all in all December means things are trucking along (pun intended) quite well.

Oh Goody!

So it's the holiday season again!! This is good and bad all at one time. I love putting way too many lights on the house, doing up a tree and having an excuse to eat too much! BUT there are the down falls too, the arguing that is sure to accompany the hanging of said lights on house, the rearranging of furniture to accomadate the tree, and the extra 5 pounds all that food is sure to bring along! Christmas is expensive too. Aside from the obvious expenses, gifts, there is all the food and trimmings, the 4 more strings of lights the house now requires this year, and the new outfits needed for the Christmas party. But all that aside i do love Thanksgiving and Christmas. New Years is great too, a good excuse to get drunk and swear to all the changes you are going make this year. Maybe someday we'll follow through? But it is the perfect time to start something new. Our new thing for the new year is going to be selling our home. Planning to put it on the market after the 1st, wish us luck, we might need it...

FUNNY!!

Ok i just had to post this cuz it is THE FUNNIEST thing i've ever seen!! Hope u enjoy!
PS. u may want to turn off the music at the bottom of the page to hear the video

Irritating!

You know what really sucks?? The fact that we paid a lot of money to get Sable spayed and we still have to deal with her having "heat cycles"!! Yeah, i didnt know that was possible either! She doesnt bleed, thank god, but all the rest is there, and poor Chevy thinks its for real. He wont leave her side and whines if they're apart, doesnt eat much and is just irritating!! At least it's only like 2 twice a year. So anyway, i feel better now, rant over...

Seattle, come and go...

After almost 2 weeks off in Seattle I needed to go home. I missed my dogs, my bed and my own truck. I would mention my husband but he's not here so the missing him wont change now that i'm home. I had a really great time on this vacation, and there were some really bittersweet moments.
I got to see Molly for the first time in FAR too long (5years), and we, as usual, had a great time together! I spent a weekend with her and then caught up with her again and went to the local theme park. We had a ton of fun and went on this www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6aUUPCZvmU ride. What a rush! We also went to a piano bar, that was a lot of fun, something i've never done. It was very hard to say goodbye to her, knowing it may be some time before i get to see her again, lets hope not another 5 years. She plans to visit Guam, so i have that to look forward to, we're thinking skydiving is next...
Got to unexpectedly see my mom, lots of people very good at keeping secrets! I'm glad she was there, again i'm not sure how long it will be until i can see her again. We got to do some shopping, eat some good food, and catch a really great concert, (Carolina Liar and One Republic opening for Rob Thomas). Had a few drinks and many laughs. And then of course there is Courtney and her family. As usual we had a ball, the kids are getting so big, and i will miss them all dearly. After 21 years of friendship i still look forward to seeing her every year, and it's so hard knowing that i likely wont see her much in the next 3+ years. Its hard for her to travel with 3 young kids, but we'll find a way, we always do.
Overall i had a wonderful time and enjoyed every minute. Now the bitter part sets in as i realize this is goodbye for awhile, it's a tough road but i wouldn't change it for the world. The military life isn't for everybody and it can take it's toll on friendships as well as relationships that aren't strong enough. Living far away from those you love it not the easiest thing to do, but i'm glad we're doing it and wouldn't trade the experiences we've had and the ones i know we still have to come, for anything. Guam is just the next chapter in the story of our lives we're writing everyday, i can't wait to turn the page and see how it goes...

Something to ponder

If a stick of gum contains 5 calories, do they assume you won't swallow it? If so, then how many calories is it if you DO swallow it? AND furthermore, how long do you have to chew the gum to get all 5 calories out of it?

Birthday...

Well Brad celebrated his final birthday in his twenties. Yep, it's official, he's old! I took him to Boykin for a bad ass steak dinner and to the movie Couples Retreat AND then for ice cream at Marble Slab. Was a good birthday night out if I do say so myself. Now we're just relaxing for the next couple days before we both start getting ready for our trips. I leave for Seattle on Wednesday and will be back on the 26th, Brad leaves for Vegas on Thursday and won't be back until November 20th or so. I'm very much looking forwardf to my trip, i go yearly and have so much fun. I'm staying longer then usual (almost 2 weeks) so things don't feel quite so rushed. Seems there was always something else we wanted to do that we just ran out of time for. I'll be seeing my bestest friend Courtney of course, and this time I'll also spend a weekend with another good friend Molly who I haven't seen in about 5 years. We always had fun (and got into trouble) in high school, so I know we'll have a good time. The only thing on the books right now is some ice skating like we did back in the day all the time. I'll try to get some pics to post! So i guess thats all for now, I'm going to try to update this blog at least once a week, and more often if I have something worth writing about.

Welcome!

I decided since we live so very far from most of our family and favorite friends that a blog might be a nice way to keep them all updated. I have no idea what direction this will go, for now no where I presume! Once we start our new journey of moving to Guam, I'm sure I will have plenty to write about. News for now...

I oficially sold my horse on Tuesday, this is bitter sweet for me. I loved this horse and had no real want to sell him, however, we cant very well take him to Guam. I got my asking price and that extra money will help a ton. Not to mention the monthly fees invloved in owning a horse, it's like losing a small car payment. So we still have one horse, Bella, to sell, and we hope to make this happen soon. Keep your fingers crossed for us.

Work: I hate my job. Well not so much my job, as my boss and the people I work with. At this point I really only work half days. Brad is thinking hard about selling his truck to Chris in November, which would leave us with one truck, and thus reduce my ability to work to ONLY morning half days. Im ok with this, but nothing is set in stone yet.

Thats all the news for now, stay tuned for more excitment!
